Congratulations to Kristen Montag on winning the Regional meet in Tripoli
Monday and earning a spot in the state tournament. She shot a season
best 84 and won the meet by 6 strokes. Great job Kristen. Coach

in free leadership training for Floyd County youth. Approximately 5
sophomores and juniors from our school will be selected to participate.
You must be nominated by a teacher, parent, peer, or through

that include team building, facilitating a meeting, conflict resolution,
developing natural talents and much more. There will also be "challenge
activities", development and implementation of a community change
activity, and a graduation ceremony. Nomination forms are available in the
office and must be completed by May 30 th. The program will be held this
summer.

Baseball players: 10th grade on down hitting today at 2:30. Varsity
hitting at 4:00. The JV game with Osage today starts at 4:00 and the

I have to apologize to the lady tracksters on not getting this out
yesterday.…Congrats to the Lady Eagle Track Team on their outstanding
performance at the regional track meet last Saturday. Top finishers
included: Mikayla Overturf 2nd in Long Jump and State qualifier, Rachel
Pike 4th in 100m dash, Paige Comentino 3rd in 3000m run new school record
(by almost 15 seconds) and state qualifier, Mikayla O. 2nd in 200m dash
(missing state qualification by .02), Rachel Pike 5th in 200m dash,
Distance Medley team of Overturf, Austin, Pike and Comentino 1st place and
state qualifier. All in all we had an excellent day, with several PR's.

blue track at Drake Stadium this week:

Congratulations to the middle school ladies track team on their 7th place
finish last night. We ran well, and did a lot of good things. Few
highlights. Kaitlin Bartel 5th in the high jump, Payton Comentino 4th in
the open 400 meters (1:09), Lynzy Peters 6th in the 1500 (6:15). A great
race in the 200 meters by Ally Pike, winning in a time of 29.28. And a
great 2nd place finish in a close 4x400 meters by Emily Dunbar, Payton
Comentino, Kaitlin Bartel, and Ally Pike. Great job ladies!!! It's been

Congratulations girls' team on a great year. Kristen Montag was medallist
and shot a 92 on an extremely windy day. The girls came up 13 strokes
short of qualifying for regionals but finished 4th and shot a 419. The

What an UNBELIEVABLE day for the Track Teams at the Britt District on
Saturday!! The boys set about 10 PR's again and broke 2 school records.
The Shuttle hurdle of Birkedal, Westphal, Willsher, and Jake Lipp set a
new record of 1:09. Parker Comentino placed in the 3200 with a PR of
10:39, the 4X200 Relay(Kramer, Younger, Coy, Knapp) finished 4th. Alex
Knapp Qualified for State by finishing 2nd in the 400M and the closest 4
X100M Relay (Heimer, Knapp, Behne, Coy) found a way to adapt, overcome,
and beat LakeMills to run a school record 44.5 and qualify for State!!
They are going in with the 3rd fastest time run!! GREAT DAY!!!!
Also congrats to Coach Behne and the girls for their outstanding
performances and earning their trips to State.

It was a BEAUTIFUL night for track at Nashua last night. Our Boys' Track
Team finished 5th last night for the CornBowl Conference meet and had
several medal winners along with 23 personal bests and season bests. It
was a GREAT night for the boys. Heimer-4th in the shot put, Parker - 2nd
in the 2-mile, Knapp - 3rd in the 100M, 4X200M(Kramer, Coy, Younger,
Knapp) finished 2nd, Knapp - 3rd in the 200M, Medley Relay(Younger, T.J.,
Kramer, Parker) finished 4th, and the 4X100M won the title with a season
best (Heimer, Knapp, Behne, Coy). I am very proud of you and now back to
work for Saturday!!

What a wonderful night for a track meet!! The Lady Tracksters ran
exceptionally well. With a squad of only 11, the girls managed to score
over 100 points placing them in 3rd out of six, beating Rockford,
Rockwell, and Sheffield. Great Job Ladies, I couldn't be more proud of
your efforts!! Tomorrow the boys and girls will be traveling to our
future home to compete in the Falcon Relays. We hope to see a good crowd
of Eagles in the stands!!

The 10th grade Math exemplar make-up date for those that missed taking it

Have we got an entertaining show for you!!! Come out Saturday evening to
see the NSRF Variety Show at 7 PM in the old gym. We have a staff
instrumental ensemble that will knock your socks off-okay we aren't that
good, but we are funny to watch! You have to see Mrs. Younger on the sax,
Mr. Mellman on trumpet, Mrs. Mainprize on snare drum and Mrs. Carrott
rocking it out on clarinet!! The infamous Cole Younger is the MC for the
show and we have some really great performances by both Middle School and
High School students. We have a wonderful variety of vocal, instrumental
and drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There will be
dessert as well for those of us who are motivated by food! See you at the
show!

Proceeds will go toward the band and choir trip to Colorado.

Great vocal concert last night 6-12 vocal students! Many outstanding
performances, great crowd and we had fantastic feedback about the concert.
Special congratulations to Cole Younger and Kaylea Carrott for being
voted Most Inspirational Senior for choral music 2007. Both are very
deserving and will be greatly missed! Special thanks to our seniors who
also all received awards last night for excellence in choral music. On

We took the skeleton crew to Nashua-Plainfield last night to run against a
big field from all over north Iowa. The ladies ran well despite the cool
temps and windy back stretch. Highlights of the evening included two 5th
place finishes by Mikayla Overturf (long jump and 100m dash), a tie for
3rd in the high jump by Erin Kelley, and 2 PR's - one in the distance
medley and one by Jessie Fink in the 800m run.

Nice job ladies. Tonight we will take the whole squad to Garner for the

Tonight is the 6-12 Vocal Concert in the gym at 7:30 PM. The Vocal Music

Congratulations to the junior high ladies track team on their 4th place
finish last night at the MTSC Invitational. Few results: seven flight
shuttle hurdle (3rd), 800m relay (3rd), 200 m hurdles (2nd) Payton
Comentino, 7 flight hurdles (2nd) Allison Pike, 400 m dash (1st!!) Payton
Comentino. And several other great finishes for the ladies. Great job!!
One day to rest, then back to a meet this Thursday at Manly!!

A Great Big Hand goes out to the girls track team on their fine
performance last evening in Cresco. The girls competed well against some
large 2A and 3A teams. Highlights of the evening included: Paige
Comentino 3rd in the 3000, The distance medley (Overturf, Christiansen,
Austin and Comentino) 3rd, and a season best in the shuttle hurdle relay
(Kelley, Rosenbaum, Buck, and Porcelli). Mikayla Overturf was 5th in the
long jump and Erin Kelley matched her PR with a 4'10" high jump giving her
a 4th place. Great Job ladies!

The Boys' Varsity Track Team had the best night since I have been here for
8 years. We finished 3rd in the Charles City meet and did not lose to a
1A school. Here are the place winners: Heimer(2nd in shot put), 4X800
(Ben Lipp, Janssen, Birkedal, Willsher) 4th, Parker 1st in the 2-mile,
Shuttle Hurdle(Jake Lipp, Ben Lipp, Westphal, Willsher)5th and ANOTHER
SCHOOL RECORD, Knapp 1st in the 100M, Behne 5th in the 100M, 4X200(Heimer,
Coy, Younger, Knapp) 2nd, Parker 4th in the mile, Ben Lipp 5th in the

Congratulations to the girls and boys golf teams last night. The girls
won 209-264. Kristin Montag was medalist with a 43. Taylor Frank was
runner up with a 54. The JV shot 263 to finish 2nd in the meet. In the
boys meet Jeff Burkgren was medalist as the boys won 175 to 189.
The girls travel to Mason City to take on the Mohawks today. Please
excuse the following golfers at 3:10. Kristin Montag, Missy McMurray,
Taylor Frank, Chloe Arndt, Ryann Carrott, Meganne McMurray, Angela
Brietzke, RaeAnne Swanson, Megan Lipp, and Emily Heaverlo. The rest of

FINALLY! The Boys' Track Team had an outdoor meet on Friday with 10
schools and they did pretty well by finishing 5th. Here are the place
winners: 4X8(Willsher, Ben Lipp, Janssen, and Birkedal) finished 4th,
Parker 2nd in 2-mile, Knapp - 2ndin the 10M, 4X200(Kramer, Coy, Younger,
and Knapp) 2nd, Parker 5th in the mile, Knapp - 2nd in the 200M, 4X100M
(Heimer, Behne, Knapp, Coy) - 2nd, and a 6th place finish by the
4X400(Willsher, John, Bass, Kramer). The Shuttle Hurdle Relay Team of
(Jake, Ben, Westphal, and Birkedal) set a new school record with a great
run!
